WORK EXPERIENCE LISTINGS:
TY.ie lists companies, organisations and third-level institutions who provide or who have provided work experience to transition year students. The listings on TY.ie have either been added by TY.ie based on previous records of transition year work experience, based on online advertising of transition year work experience or by companies, organisations and third-level institutions registering their business on TY.ie. TY.ie, therefore, cannot always guarantee that a company, organisation or third-level institution is still providing transition year work experience. However, we endeavour to update the businesses listed on TY.ie for the convenience of transition year students and the respective businesses. The details listed on each business profile including logos have either been found online or submitted by the respective business.
WORK EXPERIENCE REVIEWS:
TY.ie allows students to contribute reviews of their work experience programs and find useful information about transition year. Here are the guidelines for work experience reviews:
Inappropriate content: There's no need for colourful language, lewdness, hate speech, and other displays of bigotry. Reviews must contain no unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
Relevance: Please make sure your contributions are relevant and appropriate to the website. For example, reviews aren't the place for rants about political ideologies, extraordinary circumstances, or other matters that don't address the core of the student’s work experience.
Privacy: Don’t publicise other people’s private information. Please don’t post other people’s full names unless you’re referring to work experience providers who are commonly identified by or commonly share their own full names.
The best work experience reviews are personal. They offer helpful tips for other students. Here are some additional thoughts for conscientious reviewers.
Personal experience: We want to hear about your firsthand work experience, not what you heard from your friend or another student. Try to tell your own story without resorting to broad generalisations and conclusary allegations.
Accuracy: Make sure your review is factually correct and not defamatory. Feel free to air your opinions, but don't exaggerate or misrepresent your experience.
TY.ie values diverse opinions, so you may disagree with some content that you come across. Please keep in mind that something that may be disagreeable to you may not violate our Guidelines. In order to maintain a welcoming environment for all students, your participation in the website must always be respectful of others.
In particular:
- Don't post content that invades others' privacy. For example, don't post other people's phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, or other personal information, and don't post links to phishing or other malware sites.
- Don't impersonate other people or organisations or pretend to be someone or something you're not.
- Don't attempt to drown out other people's opinions.
- Don't engage in name-calling or attack your work experience provider.
