APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FROM THE 1ST APRIL EACH YEAR UNTIL THE LAST FRIDAY IN SEPTEMBER EACH YEAR.
This is a programme which allows students to experience how the various departments around the hospital operate. Currently the areas that facilitate work experience are physiotherapy, the play therapist, administration, laboratory, pharmacy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical photography and radiology. Students seeking placements for more than 2 days must be Garda vetted and as such they will need to be 16 years or over. A basic manual handling course and relevant online eLearning will be required prior to commencement of the placement. A copy of their college/school insurance letter and character reference from their tutor/co-ordinator will also be requested before the placement commences. If oversubscribed preference will be given to students from schools within the surrounding areas.
